I can’t believe my little brain dump has been nominated for the Liebster Award! I would like to thank Ny for the nomination again. You should totally check out her blog and also her subblog for legacies. I especially love her Build Newcrest challenge! All of her sims are so beautiful and the writing is amazing!
Now, let’s get down to business! Here are Ny’s questions:
1. If you had to choose one, would you rather be too hot or too cold?
That’s already a tough question haha. I think I would rather be too cold because you can always try to wear another layer of clothing (even though I hate going onion-style) while when you’re too hot you can’t really go further than running around naked. Also when I’m hot I sweat and that’s super icky so nope.
2. What is your favorite meal to eat?
Hm. I love cooking (and eating) so this is another tough one. My mother makes the best spagetti bolognese so this is kind of my favourite meal when I want to be nostalgic, but I also really really love the Asian cuisine. If I had to pick my absolute favourite meal of all time it would be a traditional German/Bavarian soup called “Grießnockerlsuppe” though. It’s made with semolina and I just love how it warms your tummy on a cold day and how the broth tastes. ❤
3. What is your fondest childhood memory? Or do you have none?
I think I have two fondest childhood memories?
My little sister is just roughly one year younger than me, so when we were around 3 or 4 she used to tuck us into my parents’ doublebed which was HUGE as a little toddler for our naps. We would lie on each side of her and play with her hair while she told us stories until we fell asleep. Sometimes she would fall asleep with us though. I guess she needed a break too with two toddlers haha
The second memory is more a big memory of every time I was allowed to help my father in his workshop at home. He’s a carpenter and always made every house project himself. The strongest memory here are not the individual scenes but the smell of fresh sawdust that was always prevalent when I entered. I love the smell so much and it reminds me of home. ❤
4. When you write simlit, do you screenshot or write first?
That depends on what kind of story I write. For my Build Newcrest I recently started writing the story before the screenshots, because the actual story is plot-driven. The downside of this is that it takes ages for me to update the story because I make my own poses and that tends to be time consuming. For my casual gameplay commentary, I obviously take pictures first and then try to piece together what happened exactly while infusing some of my weird humour into it.
5. How would younger you describe present you?
I think younger me would definitely describe present me as “lame A.F.”. I used to dream of being a big artiste and I still want to be a writer, but I was horribly edgy as a teenager with the hair and the attitude and everything. I used to have no idea what I wanted besides traveling and write awesome books about kickass female characters and I used to dye my hair weird colours and try everything. Now in my YA stage in life I feel like I’m much more focused on what I want to do with my life and my hair is less awful lol
6. If you woke up one day and realized that you were an animal, who, in your life, would you go to for help and how would you let them know it was you?
Honestly nobody haha. It depends on what I turn into. My friends and my family have a innate aversion to insects so if I would turn into a bug or even a spider (which isn’t an insect!) I would be swatted flat before I could even think about communicating. If I turn into something cute or a cat or a dog I wouldn’t search for help at all. Probably leave some pawprints about what happened to my family and go look for a nice old lady that keeps me well-fed and loved for the end of my days which will be spend sleeping 18hrs a day. Pets have the life!
7. What is a book that you can read over and over again?
I have an eidetic memory so reading something twice really bothers my brain because it constantly lets me know that I already know everything about the story. This got really expensive really fast which is actually the reason why I love internet stories so much – they are offered for free and there is much more than you can read in your lifetime! Sometimes I like to flip through my books again for nostalgic effect and to read over awesome lines that inspire me. One of the only series that I could bear to read twice were the Harry Potter books. Not only because I’m a huge fan but also because I always find something knew when reading them again. This pleases my brain!
8. Who is your favorite sim that you’ve made?
Urgh … I’m really bad at making sims so I’m actually tempted to say that my favourite sims are generally townies? But one Sim I really like is Gael Conway from my Conway legacy.
My favourite Sim of all time is his wife, Sierra!
9. Who are some sims you love reading about?
Oh gosh there are so many! Let’s see if I can limit myself to three of them, yes? I love Sienna, the vampire lady from Ny. If you haven’t read her letters or the short story about her you should totally do so! Then, I really enjoy reading about Superdad aka Sebastion Sevens from CathyTea’s Septemus, my Son. I love him so much and actually had to cry a few times while reading the story because he touched me so deeply with his unconditional loving of his adopted son (who has an honorary place in here, too). Another one I simply can’t get enough of is Tad Dustpine from RipuAncestor’s The Chrystanthemum Tango. I love extraterrestrial beings of unsure origin and he just delivers. Also, he’s a cute puppy and needs to be saved. That’s my choice for now, but there are so much more!
10. What makes you nervous?
A whole lot of things! Talking to people, phone calls, messaging people, thinking about what people think of me, my university life … I’m always nervous about everything and try to plan ahead as much as possible. It’s pretty manageable now (it used to be REALLY bad) but I try to confront myself with such things on a regular basis. I would never ask someone to chat or message though, that makes me super nervous. If you make the first step and talk to me I’m a waterfall, but never ever expect me to message you unless I’m dying or something. The thought of disturbing somebody is soooo cringey to me that I just cannot do it x.x
11. Tea or coffee?
Tea. If I have to drink coffee, drown it in milk and sugar and destroy the coffee taste until there’s nothing left!
